Leaside is a well-established neighborhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with a rich history dating back to the early 20th century. It was originally developed as an industrial townsite by the Canadian Northern Railway in 1912, with the purpose of accommodating industrial facilities and providing housing for workers.

Leaside's industrial roots can be traced back to the establishment of the Leaside Manufacturing Company, which operated a large munitions plant during World War I. The plant played a crucial role in supporting the war effort, producing ammunition and military equipment.
